Bio

Ismael Serrano Gracia (I. Serrano) received his degree in Computer Science in 2012 from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He scored the highest mark in his final degree project about person detection. This application uses depth cameras with OpenCV libraries. Just after, he started as a researcher at the VISILAB group at the same university. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the same University in October 2016 whose title is "Contributions to the problems of Fight Detection in Video" scoring the Cum Laude marks. Then he got a research grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science & Research. During his Ph.D, he spent time as a visiting research student at the Vision and Learning Lab, Imperial College, London, the United Kingdom with Dr. Tae-Kyun Kim.

 

He worked at Leica Biosystems Company as an AI Research Associate in November 2016 (a Marie Curie grant) working on computer vision and machine learning tasks for 1 year.

 

He joined as a Researcher at Vicomtech (Jan 2017) working on computer vision and machine learning tasks for industrial projects.

He worked as Senior R&D at Everis Aeroespacial and Defece (April 2019 to October 2020) on UAV integration and computer vision and machine learning applied for UAVs.

​

He moved as Senior R&D at Escribano, Mechanical and Engineering (October 2020 to July 2021on UAVs control and computer vision and machine learning applied for UAV cameras.

 

He continues as Senior R&D at Swarming, Technologies and Solutions (from July 2021on UAVs control and computer vision and machine learning applied for UAV cameras.

From April 2022 he jointed as Senior R&D at Tecnobit, S.A (Oeasia group) on the Tactical Data Link department as C++ developer.

 

His main interests are Developmnet, Tactical Communications, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and UAVs. He has worked on topics related to Anomaly Detection, Action Recognition and Detection, Face Detection, Random and Hough Forests classifiers, Medical Image Processing, Bioinformatics, Fight and Violence Detection, ...
